The Committee on Defense and Internal Affairs has been considering the Non-Governmental Organisations Bill, 2015 (NGO Bill) since it was forwarded to the Committee by the House in May 2015.
A quick review of the report indicates that most of the concerns of NGOs have been considered by the Committee in protection of constitutionally guaranteed freedoms of expression and association.
The Committee is now set to table the report before Parliament to pave way for debate and passing of the Bill into law.
