Interview: Advocate Nicholas Opiyo on the Anti-Homosexuality Bill

Parliament unanimously passed the controversial Anti-Homosexuality Bill on Friday December 20th amidst stiff flak from the lone voice of Prime Minister Amama Mbabazi.
The bill seeks to outlaw acts of homosexuality and its promotion. Once convicted of homosexuality, one will be imprisoned for life. Speaker Rebecca Kadaga kept her promise of delivering a christmas gift to Ugandans.
Even before the Anti Homosexuality bill was passed by Parliament, there was protracted controversy and concerns about what impact it would have on the country's standing. We sounded out Nicholas Opiyo, an advocate with Chapter Four Uganda, Civil Liberties Uganda.
