CSO retreat in Jinja to develop a CSO Position Paper on the Bill

At least 50 CSO leaders converge at Jinja Nile Resort for the one-day retreat to engage on the Bill. Chapter Four Uganda’s Masake Anthony was a session chair during the discussion on putting the NGO Bill in Uganda’s legal context.

He reflected on the systemic attack on the freedoms of association, expression and assembly through illegitimate laws coerced through Parliament. After a clause-by-clause analysis, members present agreed on the recommendations that would inform the CSO Position Paper on the Bill.
