2014 August – UN Secretary-General’s Press Statement: The United Nations through the Spokesman for the UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-Moon released an official statement titled, “Secretary-General’s Welcomes Uganda’s decision to annul Anti-Homosexuality Act”.
The UN Secretary-General paid special tribute to all those who contributed to this step forward, particularly the Human Rights Defenders in Uganda who spoke out, at times incurring great personal risk.
