Brief Bio
Mr. Tumwesigye is a US and Ugandan trained lawyer and is a Partner at TASLAF Advocates & Consultants. He holds a Master of Laws (LLM) from Harvard Law School holds an LLB (Hons) from Makerere University and is admitted as an Advocate of the High Court of Uganda.
He advises on the areas of NGO financing and taxation, social enterprise financing and regulation, private equity and mutual funds, corporate tax and complex International Business Transactions.
Prior to becoming a Partner at TASLAF Advocates, he was a Partner at Onyango and Company Advocates. He also previously worked as a Tax Advisor/Consultant with Deloitte and Touché, where he acquired experience in the area of tax law with a niche in structuring oil and gas contracts, transfer pricing, structuring mergers and acquisitions and other corporate tax advisory.
He is currently retained as an investment/legal advisor to a consortium of leading impact funds operating in the East African region.
At Harvard Law School, he was a primary editor of the Harvard Human Rights Journal, a member of the Harvard International Law Journal and was part of the Harvard Africa Law Association.
