The NGO Regulations, 2017

In exercise of the powers conferred upon the minister of internal affairs by section 55 of the NGO Act, 2016 and in consultation with NGO Bureau, the NGO Regulations were made on March 24, 2017 to guide enforcement of the NGO Act, 2016.
The Regulations provide for procedures for registration of NGOs, regulation of self-regulatory bodies, annual returns and furnishing of information, inspection of NGO premises and handling of complaints, and miscellaneous provisions that among others provides for requirement for registered organisations to obtain written approval from districts before operating in the area.
