This is a joint press statement issued by thirteen Ugandan and international groups on July 2nd, 2015 in Kampala. They call on Uganda’s parliamentary committee on defense and internal affairs to reject many provisions of a bill to regulate non-governmental organizations on grounds that they propose extensive and unjustified government control and interference, and violate basic rights.
