DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Provide high quality, objective analysis and advice within specified timeframes to the organization.
• To analyse and review all available information and recommend options for implementation of new policies.
• Advise management and stakeholders on the implications of policies, including trends, risks, and developments.
• Monitor and analyze policies in light of Chapter Four’s policies and the laws and policies of the government.
• Represent Chapter Four Uganda in policy development processes.
• Contribute policy advice to the strategic planning and policies processes.
• Develop and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders.
• Liaise with management in areas of policy to feed into organisational strategies.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

• University Degree in Law, Social or Political Science, or other relevant field. A Master’s Degree will be an additional advantage.
• Experience working with civil society organizations and networks engaged in development and social justice work.
• Three (3) years of work experience in Research, Evaluation and Policy.
• Proven knowledge and understanding of law, human rights, human rights education, and/or social issues.
• Proven work experience in policy development and analysis.
• Good analytical skills with demonstrated ability to analyse interpret and make sound judgement.
• Experience working in a cross-cultural environment.
• Excellent interpersonal skills: tact, diplomacy and discretion.
